Because so many of you were incredibly sweet in your comments regarding my origami, I have begun selling some! You may either scroll down this page and view a miniature version of my shop (bottom right) OR you may go straight to the shop and see even MORE origami goodness:
They can take DAYS! x_x
Soon, though!
I know I am long overdue for a post but I haven't been making anything photographable lately. :-(
I do have news though!! Any day now I will have Origami for sale on Etsy. Everything from crane mobiles to origami jewelry.
So watch this space for updates! ^_^
(except a hexagonal one I made with double-sided paper for Christmas which, alas, I didn't have time to photograph before it was out of my possession!)
Tiny ham.
Having a cat whose favorite toys are the wads of paper from failed origami experiments model a fab-o creation almost turned out to not be a good idea!!! No, Q, don't eat it!
The Land of Misfit Origami
I hope you've enjoyed your journey through my latest creations. I got a new book called The Joy of Origami for my birthday, so I'll soon have more to share!
- Jess
It took me several diagram sites to actually get this one down. This is the one that eventually helped me get it, very easy to understand with good photographs of each step. Since then I've been on a quest to perfect the simple Origami half box. Turned upside down, it can serve as a holding vessel. I use two at work for my paper clips. If you make one of a large size paper and another of the next size down, you've got a box bottom and lid. Nifty, huh?
Here's my latest foray:
Arrow 1 points to the creases in the bottom of the purple box. (Click all photos to zoom in.) This is the result you get from the instructions I linked to above. Arrow 2 points to the crease-free bottom of the leaf box, a technique I adapted from Steps 1-3 of this gift box diagram. The orange butterfly box is a slightly sloppy, more perfected version of the leaf box.
These are a sampling of my latest creations, which are heading via UPS to Miss Amoeboid later this week. The dove and orange/white checkered box were done with paper she sent me.
More coming later this week, as I've finished my second crane mobile about 75%. The tricky part comes at the end! Of course.
Until next time!
By the by, thanks to CuteOverload.com for the free invite to Vox. That site makes my day and she rocks for giving this to all of us. Thanks!!!
P.S. "Shokran jiden" = "Thank you very much" in Arabic. At least, that's how I remember it....
